Ashstone (AS) is a jet-black color antique faux finish applied directly over the cement surface. Because there is no accent with the base color (see New Ashstone or Classic White) this finish does not compliment significant design elements like some of our other two tone finishes do.
This finish is best recreated using Black Antique only.
We do not recommend to “paint” over already stained/painted concrete surfaces but for those areas that may have been water-stained, where hard water residues are covering the original surfaces, and where concrete is exposed we suggest to wipe this paint product and allow it to absorb into the surface. In other words, avoid leaving a thick layer of paint that could potentially peel and restore only the “base color” which can be repeated to get the desired coverage and hue.
